System
Dungeons & Dragons + Obojima: Tales From The Tall Grass
Summary
On the island of Obojima, many would say life is pretty perfect. Mortals and spirits live and work together in harmony with nature, enjoying each sunny day as they tend to fields of crops with potions, herd flocks of sheep dragons, and gather from slow moving forests. But when a sudden earthquake brings dark and mysterious changes to Obojima, it's up to a group of unlikely adventurers to uncover the island's history and secrets in an attempt to save their home.
Gameplay
Inspired by Studio Ghibli and The Legend of Zelda, Obojima is a whimsical campaign setting that aims to take things slower and more down-to-island compared to the world/universe-ending stakes of some D&D campaigns. Think curious over bloodthirsty.
Character Creation
Feel free to start brainstorming ideas for your character, though I recommend waiting until Session Zero before committing to a specific build as certain subclasses, ancestries, and backgrounds may not exist or exist differently on Obojima compared to standard D&D.
Safety Tools
During session 0, your GM will introduce the concept of lines and veils and set aside time to establish those as a table. X cards will also be present for in-session boundary setting.
